For The Times

The athletes from Indy Synchro are actively striving to be involved in the Olympic track of synchronized swimming and also to qualify for national competitions later this year. The first step of this qualification process was the North Zone competition in Crawfordsville. The athletes competed against 18 teams and 190 synchronized swimmers from the Northern Zone of the United States.

Indy Synchro won four first-places in the Senior Division. Noblesville's Alexa Aton won two, taking first for Required Figures and Solo. Aton teamed with Alyssa Hoyning of Indianapolis to win the division award for Duets. Tori Baron of Carmel, Jessica Giannuzzi of Noblesville and Natalie Huibregtse of Fishers won the Trios division award.

Aton was named High Point Figure Award winner, and was named to the Senior All-Star team, along with Hoyning, Huibregtse and Baron. Giannuzzi was named to the Honorary All-Star team.

Indy Synchro is the only synchronized swimming team in Indiana. Twenty-five talented girls from fourth grade through high school comprise the Indy Synchro team, combining athletic swimming and dance skills synchronized to music. This nationally competitive team regularly qualifies to compete in U.S Junior Championships and Age Group National Championships.
